Visiting Chinese students here on exchange
Sunraysia Institute of TAFE and Sunraysia Mallee Economic Development Board are furthering ties with the Yunnan Province in China and our sister city Dali through facilitation of an 11 week student exchange program.
Five Chinese graduate university students will come to Mildura and participate in structured work placements and cultural activities from Monday 3 March to Sunday 18 May.
The eleven week program will include cultural courses and activities followed by a study placement in an area relevant to their study background.
The students will be staying with volunteer host families to increase the students’ understanding of Australian culture and to provide a supportive home environment.
Local organisations who will be hosting a student in their workplace are Sunraysia Institute of TAFE, Mildura Rural City Council, Tasco Inland, Sunraysia Community Health Services and Mildura Workingman’s Club.
This is the third year of the Visiting Scholars Program which forges bonds on cultural and educational levels.
“Sunraysia Institute of TAFE is proud to be taking the lead in this year’s program as we have had intense involvement with China over the past 12 months, signing three agreements with three universities in China, and wish to promote the development of the international education programs with China” said Zhang (Jane) Huaying, Sunraysia Institute of TAFE International Projects Coordinator.
This is an exciting time for Sunraysia Institute of TAFE with the inaugural student exchange program to Dali, China taking place in June this year.
Students from the Institute will be placed in relevant industries or organisations for 4 to 8 weeks work experience.
